Annie Wright School

827 North Tacoma Avenue
Tacoma, Washington, USA

Annie Wright School is proud to be a school with an international emphasis that promotes excellence and personal growth for each of its students. Grades preschool through eight offer a strong pre-collegiate education for boys and girls in an atmosphere of maximum challenge and support. Grades 9-12 offer an outstanding single-gender college preparatory program for girls in both day school and boarding school environments. All students benefit from a learning atmosphere designed to foster each student's unique potential as scholar, artist, athlete, and person, with a particular focus on developing students to be active participants in our multicultural world. The Upper School is enriched by the presence of girls in its Residential Program from ten different countries. Strong college preparatory education depends upon outstanding teaching by our faculty. Our teachers demonstrate their dedication to students via their work in the classroom, as leaders for extracurricular activities, and as partners with our students' parents. The AWS faculty bring to their work thorough academic preparation, a lifelong love of learning and knowledge of the developmental needs of the students whom they mentor and teach. Within each of the three school divisions, the focus of our educational program is clearly apparent. Careful and thoughtful planning creates a coherent sense of direction for each school year. School-wide initiatives in the areas of global education, curriculum design, math/science instruction, and inquiry-based learning are continually refined and implemented. It is indeed a privilege to be part of the leadership team at Annie Wright School. Experiencing Annie Wright School firsthand is the best way to fully appreciate our international community spirit.
