Marion Military Institute, situated in Marion, Alabama, was established in 1842 and was originally known as Howard English and Classical School. It was given its current name in 1887. Commonly abbreviated as MMI, the college has a 126-acre campus. and offers programs that allow students to get admission in the United States Armed Forces. The college offers associate’s degree courses and prospective students are also offered courses such as U.S. Army ROTC, U.S. Marines Corps PLC, U.S. Air Force ROTC as well as basic cadet programs and preparatory programs for Service Academy (SAP). MMI students can be part of a varied number of student organizations and societies such as Normandy Society, Scabbard & Blade, Swamp Fox and the Musical Theater and Drama Society.
