St. Timothy's School

8400 Greenspring Avenue
Stevenson, Maryland, USA

St. Timothy’s School educates the whole person and prepares students to make contributions to a changing and challenging world. The philosophy of St. Timothy’s School defines education as all of the structured experiences in which students participate: course work, athletics, activities, and our life together as a residential school. These opportunities involve valuable interaction between faculty, students, and staff. In addition to its academic curriculum, St. Timothy’s School requires participation in four other areas of community life to complement the academic endeavors of our students: the Student Life Program, the Community Outreach Program, athletics, and the Chapel Program. The School’s commitment to education and caring for the whole person, as reflected in this all-encompassing view of education, supports and nurtures the intellectual, spiritual, physical, and emotional development of our students. St. Timothy’s broad and flexible program allows students with a variety of academic interests to excel. The first two years of mathematics, science, and world language study are based on the International General Certificate of Secondary Education Curriculum (IGCSE). The first two years of history, English, and religion are humanities-based courses. All Threes take an Arts Foundation course that explores the creative process. All Fours enroll in one of the art elective courses. The curriculum of the final two years is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). Within this Curriculum Guide, you will find graduation requirements, course descriptions, and the contact information needed to find out more about everything that St. Timothy’s School has to offer....
